Overview

The Art & Design Department was named the Art Department until 2011. The new name better reflected the department’s curriculum changes. Art courses were originally taught in the general curriculum of the Education Department and then of Arts & Sciences in 1963/1964. When the School of Arts & Humanities was established, Art became its own major and department. In 1981/1982 it became part of the School of Arts & Sciences and then that school’s name changed in 1982/1983 to College of Arts & Sciences where the Art Department remained. Box 1, Folder 8 contains a DVD from the Lehigh University Special Collections in the undated section of the folder. It highlights a sculpture donated by Brian Berman. Materials in this series include correspondence, meeting minutes, publications, etc.
