Overview

Math courses were always part of the Teacher Education curriculum and remained the same when the liberal arts curriculum was established in the 1963/1964 academic year. The School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences was created in 1973, and math became a major and a department within the division. The department and major was transferred to the School of Arts & Sciences in the 1981/1982 academic year, which become the College of Arts and Sciences in 1983. In the later 1980s mathematic majors included a BA, BS.Ed, and the same degrees were offered in Mathematics with a concentration in Computer Science. In 1992 Math and Computer Science were joined together as one department, and the same degrees mentioned earlier continued to be offered. The two were separated into 2 different departments by 2004. The materials in this series include correspondence, publications, meeting minutes, reports, newsletters, etc.
