Overview
Sociology courses were offered by 1962 as part of the general curriculum, but by the 1965/66 academic year they were completely removed and were not added again until 1970 when anthropology courses were also added to the Liberal Arts and Sciences in the Field of Social Sciences degree program. Sociology became a department and degree program in 1974 within the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences. Anthropology courses remained part of the general curriculum. The Sociology Department became part of the newly created School of Arts and Sciences in 1981 and then within the College of Arts and Sciences in 1983. The two were combined in 1990 to form the new Sociology/Anthropology Department. This series contains meeting minutes, correspondence, etc.
