Overview
In the early 1970s, the college had a similar service, but it was not as robust as the current one. It was originally called Campus Services until the name changed to Audiovisual Services. It became Instructional Technology in 1973 when it was moved from the basement of Gilbert Hall to the basement of Stewart Hall. It was managed by the Communication/Journalism department with Dr. Stan Oates (Professor) as the Director. These records are in Record Group 11, Series 3, Sub-Series 17, Box 1. Media Services is now a department within the library but is physically located in the basement of Grove Hall where the department has the capacity to house all the media equipment and the television studio. This department manages and services audio-visual equipment used in classrooms, meeting rooms, and other areas across campus. The department creates posters, poster boards, and provides other duplication services for the entire campus community. They offer laminating services, dub videos, and convert media from one format to another. These services are provided across campus and offer free services to students. Media Services is managed by the Director/Dean of the library. Folders 7 and 8 have an inventory of subjects found in those folders listed on the front of the folder. Folder 12 contains two interesting histories of audio-visual use in the college and the history of the Media Services department. There are no restrictions.
Arrangement
