Biographical / Historical
External Relations & Communications include departments and offices who are responsible for establishing, building, and maintaining relationships with current and non-current members of the campus community as well as the public. The division of External Relations and Communications falls directly under the authority of the president of the college. The division name was External Affairs & University Relations until 2019, when President Laurie Carter changed the name to External Relations and reorganized the division. Dr. Carter changed the name again in 2020 to the current title. The division was created in 2008-2009 at which time it included the Luhrs Performing Arts Center, Camps and Conferences, Communications & Marketing, and Alumni Affairs. Under the leadership of President Dr. Charles Patterson, this entire division was separated into other divisions and departments.
