This collection documents the activities of University Communications & Marketing, Alumni Relations, and the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center within the division of External Relations & Communications. Materials include correspondence, publications, promotional materials, employee obituaries, manuscripts, committee minutes, reports, donations, photographs, and program brochures. The record group is divided into three series that include Series 1 (University Communications and Marketing), Series 2 (Alumni Relations), and Series 3 (H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center). Series 1 contains 7 sub-series: Sub-Series 1 (General Business), Sub-Series 2 (SU News), Sub-Series 3 (Vista), Sub-Series 4 (Proteus), Sub-Series 5 (FACT), Sub-Series 6 (News Releases), and Sub-Series 7 (Promotional Materials). Series 2 contains 4 sub-series: Sub-Series 1 (General Business), Sub-Series 2 (Publications), Sub-Series 3 (Alumni Association), and Sub-Series 4 (Little Red Schoolhouse). Each series and sub-series is arranged in alphatical order.
Series 1 contains a large collection of magazines and news releases that are a testament to campus changes and campus culture. The FACT and News Releases are no longer published and have been replaced with the SU News announcements. Each publication is housed in a separate sub-series. Series 2 includes the records of the Little Red Schoolhouse and Humanities on the Road documentation.

Overview
This series includes 6 sub-series that include Sub-Series 1 (General Business), Sub-Series 2 (SU News), Sub-Series 3 (Vista), Sub-Series 4 (Proteus), Sub-Series 5 (FACT), Sub-Series 6 (News Releases), and Sub-Series 7 (Promotional Materials). Sub-Series 1 includes Applause and Scene publications distributed by this department: Box 1, Folder 6 contains some university-designed cloth masks created during the COVID-19 pandemic. Box 3, Folder 14 contents are arranged in alphabetical order by surname within the folder. Sub-Series 2 includes the Ship News that is sent through email by this department. The messages sent on behalf of offices other than Communications and Marketing were put with the records of the office who created the message. The FACT is Sub-Series 5 is an acronym for Faculty Administrative Campus Topics. Some of the FACT in this collection are bound together in books, while others are loose issues in folders. In July 1977, the FACT began to include the Staff Report, and the Student Information Bulletin. The News Releases in Sub-Series 6 have gaps that include 1978-1980, 1982-1984, and 1990-1993. There are some that have been bound into books, while others are loose issues within folders. All sportsrelated releases are located within the athletic records in Record Group 6, Sub-Group 3 but were left here to save processing time even though they were created by Communications and Marketing.

This series is arranged in alphabetical order except Sub-Series 6 is arranged chronologically.
